One day in 2001, a Utah woman named Nissa became trapped… inside her own body.
Doctors said she was brain-dead and recommended letting her die. But Nissa’s family never gave up.
Nissa suffered from locked-in syndrome.
Thankfully, one nurse saw a spark in her eyes that told her Nissa was still in there. “If you can hear me, close your eyes twice,” the nurse told Nissa. Nissa closed her eyes twice.
Today, Nissa is free from the nightmare… and thriving!
